Q.  Who can perform a Marriage Ceremony

A.  The Mayor can provide a marriage ceremony within in the village of Gouverneur.  A Judge may also perform a marriage ceremony.

Q.  How do I obtain a copy of a birth of death certificate?

A.  Contact the Registrar from the place of your birth or where the death occurred.

Q.  Who can obtain a certified birth certificate if I am unable to do it myself?

A.  Your mother or father

Q.  Where do I obtain my handicapped parking permit?

A.  Contact the Clerk of the municipality in which you reside.  For example, if you live in the Village of Gouverneur, contact the Village of Gouverneur Clerk's Office

Q.  If I want to access to a village record, what do I need to do?

A.  You must provide the Village Clerk with a written request, F.O.I.L. Form .  The charge for a F.O.I.L request is .25  per page

Q.  How often will I receive a water/sewer bill?

A.  Quarterly.  May 1st, August 1st, November 1st, February 1st.  Each billing year begins with May billing.  Any unpaid water/sewer amounts as of April will be levied to the June (Village) taxes.
