After-School Programs: After school programs are available for children in grades K-12. Elementary students meet on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon throughout the academic year from 2:30 PM - 5:00 PM. Bus transportation from the schools to the Recreation Center is available. Activities such as team games, arts & crafts and theme days are offered. Computer terminals are also available to participants.
Students in grades 6 -12 meet on Monday and Wednesday, afternoons from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The Cafe' Game Room features four computer terminals, pool table, foosball, electronic darts, arcade basketball and a big screen television. Movie features, tournaments and theme days are offered, as well as fitness/wellness programs. Tutoring Services and Homework Club are available for students in grades 4 - 8.
Youth Dances: Monthly dances are scheduled and feature disc jockey music, contests and prizes. Seasonal dances feature teen royalty with king & queen/ prince & princess coronation. Youth must attend age appropriate dances which include the following: Elementary: grades 3-6; Middle School grades 6-8; High School grades 9-12.

Toddler Town: Play group activities and educational opportunities are offered to pre school children on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Sessions are held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Social interaction is emphasized. Daily nutritious snacks are provided. Special features include theme days, guest story tellers and crafts.
Senior Citizen Programs. Monthly programs are offered including tea parties, socials, bingo and low-impact fitness sessions. Seasonal outings are also scheduled.

Community Fitness Program. Adult step-areobics and yoga are offered weekly at the Recreation Center. Certified Instructor, Jackie Gates, provides high-impact wellness and work-out programming. Spinning bike sessions are also available.

Teen Recreation Council - TRC. The Teen Recreation Council (TRC) comprises of middle school and high school youth. The purpose of TRC is to give teens ownership of programs held at the Recreation Center. As a collaborative effort, the council assists in planning activities and events. New members are always welcome and must be approved by the Recreation Director. An application process is required before membership is granted.

Building Use Rentals. The Recreation Center located on the St. Lawrence Country Fairgrounds, 215 Rock Island Street, is available for private functions and events. Birthday parties, family gatherings, nonprofit club activities, scouting events and others are welcome. Alcohol and tobacco products are not permitted. A Building Request Form must be submitted in advance for approval. Contact the Recreation Center office for fees and availability, 287-0524.
