Q: Can the mayor vote? A: Yes, the mayor has the right to vote if he or she chooses but must vote in case of a tie
Q: Do you vote as mayor? A: Yes, I vote every time.
Q: Who appoints department heads, non-elected officers and employees? A: The mayor appoints with the approval of the board of trustees.
Q: Who appoints the deputy mayor? A: The appointment is made by the mayor and does not require board approval.
Q: What does the deputy mayor do? A: During an absence of the mayor, the deputy mayor's vested with the powers of the mayor.
Q: Can the mayor appoint someone to fill the unexpired term of an elected or appointed officer if a vacancy occurs? A: Yes, and this does not require board approval.
Q: If there is a vacancy in the office of mayor, who appoints someone to fill the unexpired term? A: The board of trustees
Q: Who supervises the conduct of police and other officers of the village and can intervene in all actions, at the direction of the board, to protect the rights of the village and residents? A: The mayor.
Q: Who executes contracts, pay claims, sign checks in the absence of the treasurer or deputy treasurer? A: The mayor, at the directions of the board of trustees.
Q: Who is the budget officer? A: The mayor
